Privacy Policy

This site is operated by Litchie Consulting (“Litchie”, “we”, “us”), registered in Belgium. Our public-facing properties include litchie.be, travel.litchie.be, and the landing pages we host for our clients.

The data we collect depends on how you interact with our sites:

• Analytics data (via Google Analytics 4, only after you accept the cookie banner): pages visited, time on page, approximate location at city level, device and browser type, anonymised IP address.
• Form submissions: if you fill in a contact or lead form, we receive the data you submit (name, email, message and similar).
• Email correspondence: when you write to us at marketing@litchie.be, your email and its content reach our mailbox.
• Technical logs: standard server logs (request URL, status code, timestamp, anonymised IP). These are kept for short periods for security and debugging.

• Analytics: to understand which articles and pages readers engage with, so we can improve the content.
• Forms and email: to respond to your enquiry and, if relevant, to discuss working together.
• Server logs: to keep the site reliable and to detect abuse.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising profiling.

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, our legal bases are:

• Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for analytics cookies. You give consent by clicking “Accept” on the cookie banner and can withdraw it at any time by clearing the “litchie_consent” entry in your browser’s storage or by contacting us.
• Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) for technical logs and basic security.
• Contractual necessity (Art. 6(1)(b)) when you contact us about a possible engagement.

Our cookie banner gives you a clear Accept/Decline choice. If you decline, we set no analytics cookies and Google Analytics does not load.

The cookies we use, only after consent:

• _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics 4) - distinguish unique visitors and sessions. Expire after 2 years.
• litchie_consent (set by us in localStorage) - remembers your accept/decline choice so the banner does not reappear on every page.

• Google Ireland Limited for Google Analytics 4 (data processed in the EU with onward transfers to the US under Standard Contractual Clauses).
• Vercel Inc. for site hosting (data in transit only; no user data persisted in Vercel).
• Neon Database for our application database (EU region, contact form and lead-form submissions only).
• Better Auth session storage for admin login (admin users only).

• Analytics: kept by Google Analytics for up to 14 months.
• Contact form / email submissions: kept for as long as needed to address the enquiry and reasonably afterwards (typically up to 24 months).
• Server logs: typically up to 30 days.

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Have inaccurate data corrected.
• Have your data erased (“right to be forgotten”).
• Restrict or object to processing.
• Receive your data in a portable format.
• Withdraw consent at any time (for analytics, by declining the cookie banner or clearing your browser storage).
• Lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (www.dataprotectionauthority.be).

Where our processors transfer data outside the European Economic Area, transfers rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, additional safeguards such as IP anonymisation.

We may update this policy occasionally. When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
